Grow your career with us in our state of the art sawmill facility! IFG is seeking an industrial maintenance mechanic to join our team in Lewiston, Idaho. The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform preventative maintenance and diagnose, repair and maintain all machinery and equipment in optimal working order. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the team by helping identify and prevent mechanical issues and respond to equipment break downs. This is a full-time weekend position working 4-10 hour shifts.



  • Effectively assess preventative and predictive maintenance issues in sawmill/planer operation
  • Safely inspect and test run equipment after maintenance has been performed
  • Prepare machine centers for daily use; working knowledge of all mill equipment
  • Diagnose and repair equipment using cutting, welding, power and hand tools
  • Fabricate, cut and weld
  • Monitor all pipes, conveyors, and bins and assist unplug as needed
  • Assemble, install and repair equipment following blueprints and schematics
  • Communicate technical subjects verbally and written to co-workers and document repairs in computerized maintenance system
  • Replace guards and protective devices after completion of project or repair
  • Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Comprehend and comply with Job Safety Analysis
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations
  • Keep work area clean cleanup during any down time



  • Minimum 2 years experience as a maintenance technican including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and welding skills.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Must be proficient in welding and use of trade tools
  • Ability to report maintenance problems and document work orders using basic computer/Windows programs
  • Must understand and follow lock out/tag out policies for each job and task.
  • Must be willing to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to work overtime on short notice and holidays, as this is the opportune time to work on equipment.
  • Successfully pass post-offer physical exam, drug screen and background check


  • Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Industrial Maintenance, vocational or technical post-secondary degree or certificate or Journeyman Millwright certification preferred.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance system
