Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking Saw Filers to join our team in Athol, Idaho.  IFG is a growing company with 6 sawmills and a reputation for high quality products. 


Essential Functions

  • Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations and JSAs
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations
  • Keep work are clean at all times cleanup during and after shift do not leave until cleanup complete
  • Changes saws and guides at all machine centers
  • Grind, tip, line satellite, and carbide saws; repair and or replace tips / teeth as needed
  • Ensures that saw teeth are sharpened correctly
  • Pours babbit for guides and cuts to proper size
  • Maintains grinding equipment
  • Trains with filers to learn saw fitting techniques for round saws, band saws, and/or saw benching


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successfully pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check
