Lumber Sales Trader

Idaho Forest Group is looking for a Lumber Trader to manage the sales and delivery of lumber.  This individual will be focusing on inventory, cost, and logistics associated with executing our lumber sales strategy. This position is based at our corporate office in Coeur d'Alene, ID and will report to a Sales Manager.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for initiating sales, taking orders, anticipating, and meeting customer needs
  • Proactively contact customers regarding market fluctuations and trends
  • Develop and grow key industry relationships
  • Responsible for assigned product management, pricing, monitoring inventory, and promoting assigned products
  • Actively work with all team members (logistics, operations, and production) to maximize sales volume, gross margin, and customer satisfaction
  • Develop market analyses, reports, and forecasts to allow informed business decisions across the lumber division
  • Administer contracts, communicate and follow-through with paperwork 
  • Utilize available tools to increase work efficiency and to understand historical market data and key analysis to drive sales planning
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in lumber sales, lumber purchasing and/or account management required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related job function required
  • Ability to work independently or with teams or groups with limited supervision
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Word and Excel
  • Able to work extended hours when necessary to support business initiatives
